  2. Sandra,
I think I have an ancestor that hailed from the Lake Providence area. His name was Charles Morgan and he is shown in the 1850 Census as a planter with about 17 slaves. I found a map with a parcel designated as belonging to a C. Morgan, 450 acres southwest of Lake Providence. I think this must be his. Would like to compare notes about where and when he might appear in other records you have. My email is harveyw123@comcast.net. Please contact me.

    Thanks,

    Harvey Whitcomb

  3. I hope you are my golden key. My great-grandfather came to America when???, where???, I found 4 of his sons in the 1900 4tth Ward, East Carrol Census. He was living then but he is not on the Census. He is ROSOLINE TEMENTO, born in Alia, Sicily, Feb. 1, 1828, came to America anywhere from 1860 and definately here in 1880. He started his family here in America in Louisiana. First son, FRANK ROSS TEMENTO born Dec. 28, 1877, then, JOSEPH MARTIN, Dec. 15, 1878; JOHN CHARLES, Aug 22, 1884; then I believe (no proof) he had twins, JEANNE a girl born Aug 22, 1885 and a boy, PERCY Aug 22, 1885. The girl I found in the Dioese of Baton Rouge records St. James church. This is the only time JEANNE is found. The four boys are listed in the 1900 Census, ages, 23, 20, 14 and 13. Percy, age 14, is the only one never heard of again. I don't have a mother for the boys, they were all born in Louisiana, and my Great-grandfather seldom appears on any records. The last name is spelled with a "K", "F", "Chi". I would like to find any records on the mother, or Jeanne. Maybe a death in Carrol Parish? Tell me where and I will search. Thank you.
